Taekwondo in Nigeria - Achievements
Nigeria has made various achievements in the sports of taekwondo and is working hard towards being among the best in the world when it comes to the sport; some of their achievements include but is not limited to;
Nigeria Taekwondo team participated at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Beijing, competing in the heavyweight division of taekwondo winning a silver medal through Emmanuel Oghenejebo.
One of Nigeria’s taekwondo practitioners won a bronze medal at the 2003 All-Africa Games in Abuja competing in the men’s heavyweight category.
Nigeria won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics competing in the Men’s +80 Kg event by Chika Chukwumerije.
Also in 2011 All-African Games, Nigeria Chika Chukwumerije won a silver medal in the Men’s +80 Kg category.
Nigeria won a bronze medal in the Male 68Kg category through Chinazom Nwosu at the 2018 African Taekwondo Championship held from 27 to 30 March 2018, in Agadir Morocco.
